Support Our Mission
For 20 years Borromeo Housing has been hosting the most vulnerable families of our community. We have enabled at-risk young women and their babies to grow into strong, stable families. We have instilled the motivation and skills to enable them to remain self-sufficient, and we have encouraged their self-esteem and self-sufficiency. Over 90 percent of program graduates are living independently and have created stable, nurturing homes for their children. It is important to note that in housing and helping teen mothers and their babies, the Elizabeth House program challenges the cycle of poverty by addressing the shelter, development, social, and educational needs of two generations of at-risk youth, simultaneously.

Each day referrals come in to BHI’s office from Arlington Department of Social Services, Arlington Public Schools, local faith-oriented groups, and peer organizations. Young, homeless women, pregnant or caring for an infant, come to us hoping to find safety and stability at our shelter. Our goal is to be able to accept more of these families into our care, to double the number of clients we serve in the next two years. With your help, we can reach that goal. Individual donations make up over 60% of our annual funding. Your dollar can make a difference! Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to Borromeo Housing, and help the Elizabeth House program change the paths of destitute families, from a life without resource or direction, to a future of promise, independence, and self-sufficiency.
